Welcome to the 2008 summer season! This year, we plan to build on the success of last year's food service and entertainment programs with some changes and additions. We'd like to highlight a few things for you.

This winter, we had three terrific Family Fun Nights with excellent turnout. We want to continue to emphasize fun events for the whole family. Thus, we are making Wednesdays "Family Bingo Night" beginning July 9. The bar will open at 5:30 PM with a soup, salad and sandwich buffet available from 6:00 to 7:30 that will include kid-friendly items. Then, Bingo begins at 7:30 PM. We are encouraging parents and grandparents to join in with the kids for a super evening complete with prizes. Adults without kids are welcome too, of course.

The remainder of the nights will be like last year. Tuesday is a great night to come down to watch the JYC races or to come in after the race for refreshments and food. Thursday features terrific specials, Sunday night is dressy casual/jackets optional and TGIF is, well...TGIF! Also, lunch will be served weekends beginning May 25 and every day beginning June 23. The menu features two new salads, a vegetarian Black Bean Burger, and different dinner specials for different nights of the week.

Eileen Muldoon's Entertainment Committee is planning many fun events including a Great Gatsby Dance and Cocktail Party on July 19 and the Commodore's Ball on August 23. You won't have to worry about pulling a table together for the Gatsby Party, as the food service will be buffet style. And coming right up is our traditional Fourth of July party featuring John Moitoza's Dixieland Band.

Finally, a new retractable awning system has been added to our deck to provide shade for those hot summer days. We are also rebuilding the fixed awning over the grill area and that will be completed soon. There are many people on our committees and staff who have put forth a terrific effort to make the summer a success. We hope you will enjoy your club frequently during the season and enjoy our many special events.
