Soup & Sloop: Gary Jobson

Gary Jobson, 59, is a world class sailor, television commentator and author based in Annapolis, Maryland. Gary has authored 15 sailing books and is Editor at Large of Sailing World and Cruising World magazines. He has won many championships in one design classes, the America's Cup with Ted Turner in 1977, the infamous Fastnet Race and many of the world's ocean races. In college he was an All American sailor three times and was twice named College Sailor of the Year (1972, 1973).
Over the past thirty-five years Gary has given over 2000 lectures throughout the world. He started his career as a sailing coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Gary's presentation will include the US Sailing Team's highlights of
the Beijing Olympic Games, the Chicago to Mackinac Race, the Volvo
Ocean Race, the Bermuda Race, the Transatlantic Challenge, and Key West
Race Week. Two special features will be on Classic Yachts and his
recent expedition to Antarctica. Gary will also narrate a fast paced
history of the America's Cup which includes fascinating new footage of
BMW Oracle Racing's trimaran.

Dinner served at 6:30PM. Presentation at 7:30PM. Dress is smart casual.
$25 per person. Proceeds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
